Homework and assignments is at best a chore for most students and,
unless they are very committed, they find assignment difficult,
frequently as they are not motivated.
Consider the subsequent questions.
When your child does assignment to what degree is she or he comfortable,
relaxed and focused or is doing assignment a battle and a struggle every night?
If so:
Do you resort to harsh reprimands?
Have you tried gentle pep talks?
Have you spoken to her or his tutors?
Do you have to give assignment help regularly?
Rarely will any of these work in pep and isolation talks and reprimands are the final things
you should use as they will just build up resistance to school and assignment.
The struggle with assignment can, however, is eased by "re-programming"
your child's approach and attitude to assignment.

Here are some steps approaches to curing the assignment struggle:

Step 1. Stop discussing doing assignment with your child:
Instead discuss how she or he is approaching assignment.
As part of this solution guide your kid to step back
and actually explore the way they are approaching their studies.

Step 2. Find out what pressure you child is under with regard to assignment:
Ask her or him-
Are you upset what your friends will think if you do or do not complete your assignment?
Do you find the assignment problems and believe that you are not clever enough?
Do you enjoy struggling with your assignment, or do you want to end this struggle?

Step 3. Discuss their answers openly:
Never dismiss their feelings or opinions- even if you strongly disagree with them.
These emotions are theirs and are valid whatever you feel. Dismissing them only reinforces them.

Step 4. Make yourself available as a tutor:
Provide assistance on how to approach questions but do not give the answers.
If you do not know something say so and work with them so you learn.
Admire them for the level of work they are providing.
Don't be afraid to make yourself look stupid - it gives inspiration for them to see the work is hard, 
and when they have completed it they get a greater sense of success.

Step 5. "Reprogramming" should be done while your kid is doing assignments,
but not when there is any time pressure.
They should be able to start and stop the studying many times to discuss any questions.
Originally try it at the weekend but not when they are rushing to go out.
Do not introduce it as a particular time.
Your kid should just regard it as a normal assignment session.
You should, talk to them and focus on their resistance to assignment.
It may not work instantly. It is a process and finally they will reduce or drop their resistance
and find a more positive attitude towards their assignment.

Step 6. Be aware that "getting work done" is not the main focus of your time using this approach: There will be many purposeful stops and starts Find Article,
as you both explore the better way to approach assignments.
Let your child express her or his feelings. Discuss and expose all their limiting feelings 
and beliefs and encourage them to find their own solution.
Children and assignments is a hard mix at the best of times
but tackling the actual cause of their resistance will lead the more positive approach
and better marks.
