Yale Centre for Dyslexia and Creativity.

The various vetches have been mentioned in the Bible, used for medication,
eaten or simply look pretty
but they each fulfil their own function naturally.
I tend to share the same opinions as the commentators regarding this video.
I am somewhat dyslexic, but I can read to the extent of creating the Turbo Charged Reading
programme and I really don't want someone medicating my brain into their version of normality.
1.45 into the video and I totally disagree with the lady.

Christmascup:
Wow very interesting wish the dude would of let her talk jezzz

FORWARDPDX BASS
I am dyslexic and I can read extremely fast if i want, but i skim..
I read slow because I read complicated shit. I have a much higher reading level than average,
this bitch is full of shit and shouldn't talk about something she does not have and clearly does not understand. HACK. Dyslexics need to band together and create our own version of the ADL.

brent saulic
Dyslexia is not a disability, its visual and 3 dimensional way of organizing information in the mind. There is no paradox, for most kids organizing letter symbols into meaning is very arbitrary.
A tree is not a combination of finite letters, but a preponderance of nearly infinite details
and associations. Don't medicate, customize Learning.
Once I read enough and became familiar with all the nuanced patters
I could read faster and comprehend in greater efficacy than most people.

Mimi NVA  in reply to brent saulic
I agree about the meds and quite frankly I'm shocked to see her advocating this.
Reading her book (me reading ;-) is probably what saved my 7 year old son.
I disagree about it not being a disability
and I thank God for the parents before me who had it classified as such.

Wow a book for people with dyslexia. I hope there is a lot of pictures in it.

peter smith  in reply to 007djjoshua
What a wanker!

April Kilroy
That is fine if you can read...some cant like my son.

Raymond Nolan Scott  in reply to FORWARDPDX BASS
how well do you remember what you read also....did you get special education therapies to help you read better I had auditory therapy, speech therapy, and phonics training to correct my dyslexic weaknesses. I have dyspraxia and ADHD. I had motor skills therapy to correct my dyspraxia.
there is a lot of overlap and co-existence between dyslexia, dyspraxia, adhd,
and other neurodivergent conditions.

Reading Problems and Solutions ABC World News

Reading Problems and Solutions ABC World News
ABC World News report on a solution for reading problems.

When I was 5 years old the words on the blackboard started moving around,
maybe only for a few seconds, but this was really rather frightening.
Just try and imagine if your chairs or knives and forks started dancing around - impossible?
Using coloured glasses has been known for a great many years,
and yet it does not seem to be a widely recognised as a possible solution.
I know someone who only experiences this when he's tired or stressed.

If words sliding off the page because the page is arched is normal for your child but is not normal
for you then it is possible that neither of you would bring this phenomenon up in conversation.

It has been proved that reading in a soft, warm light assists in reading comfort and success
and so suggested for those who follow my Turbo Charged Reading programme.

Often we find black or a shade or so lighter than black text on a warm coloured paper
is much easier to read as stark white paper is so harsh and tiring.

Also the text in my TCR programme is in the Arial font as that is easier for dyslexic people to read.
While I am slightly dyslexic and often don't use Arial for my personal use;
I have to admit that it is the clearest text when compared, in detail, with others.

What Is Turbo Charged Reading and who will benefit from using this natural ability?

What Is Turbo Charged Reading
and who will benefit from using this natural ability?
Written By M'reen

In short it is reading in the way your mind is designed to read.
Which is not the way you are probably reading now – that is each word reading.

The top of the tree example is: a PhD student poured 20,000 pages into his innermind in a week,
it took his innermind a further week to catalogue, collate and bring forth the specific information
he needed for his thesis' which he completed by week three !
It can take some people three weeks to read one book!

How much an hour do you charge for your services?
Therefore it costs you that much to each word read.
And how much of what you have read do you remember?
And how much of that do you retain for your long term use?

When Turbo Charged Reading
you fuel your body with oxygen,
you put your right and left brains into gear,
and you switch on a sat nav  that actually works – your mind
and you then get out of the way as you let your auto self drive take over.
Slow reading really is having someone walk in front of you with a red flag!
At the end of this stage all the information read is in your innermind
and your brain starts producing new information pathways
and it needs some quiet time to do this.
This is like putting money in the bank that is gaining real interest.
You have already decided upon your withdrawal sequence when you banked the information
and now is the time to withdraw that information into your conscious awareness.
This can be done in a variety of ways that suits you best.
Should you wish to make further withdrawals then you submit another withdrawal slip
being as creative as someone avoiding paying their tax.

These simple, natural steps use your body, mind and energy systems
and if any of those words seem unrealistic when applied to reading please stay with me
as I carefully explain over the next few blogs how all this ties together and will work for you.

Expressed differently you prepare your body, mind and energy
to let the printed word on paper or electronic devices
bypass your eyes and conscious mind with its gremlins
and go straight into you innermind
where you can choose to trigger it deliberately or it maybe it will pop up spontaneously.
I was unaware that I had a star map in my innermind until I went to live in Colorado Springs. CO. USA
and spontaneously found that the star map was all wrong! When I went on holiday to Providecialis,
a British Protectorate in the West Indies, the stars had moved again.

As a beginning reader you had to go through a lot of processes in order to decipher
the squiggles on the paper. Now that you have mastered that in your familiar languages and context
you no longer need to repeat those processes when TCR as you just use them.
Rather in the same way that you no longer need to double de-clutch to change a car’s gears
as modern technology enables you to simply employ the auto mode
and ‘get out of the way’ as the car selects the optimum gear.

Who will benefit from Turbo Charged Reading?

Anyone of any age who can read with comprehension.
For example I couldn’t slow or TCR read a book on Rugby as I don’t understand the positions
or plays. People who have recently learned how to TCR forget this and become disillusioned
when reading material out of their knowledge range. They forget that that familiarity will take
just a little more time to accommodate than material from their professional arena.
However, rather like my star then that information will be absorbed.
Back to Rugby, I could read in a sports area with which I’m familiar in my expected time frame,
but with the Rugby I’d just have to take a side step and TRC a ‘dictionary of Rugby terms’
before reading, what for me would be, a more advanced book.

People who are dyslexic.
This is a term that means so very many different things at different degrees of severity.
I am a little dyslexic, but not when it comes to reading. I just do things that are incomprehensible
even to myself; some of which have long impressive names according to the specialists.
A dyslexic person can speak, remember and do all that good stuff
and TCR is so fast that the printed word doesn't have time to cause problems
as it goes directly into the innermind to be processed.

People with a poor memory.
I am assured from others that people who have to have a letter from their Doctor
allowing them extra time in exams find that after TCR for a time period
that such an extension is no longer necessary.

People who are slow readers.
Such people often don’t finish reading a book as they get bored.
When TCR, the process is so fast that I TCR my first novel at seven times faster
than when slow each-word reading and reading a novel is the slowest way to TCR.
Non-fiction books simply zip by and at the end of reading you have either a working knowledge
of the book or a very detailed knowledge depending entirely upon your pre-determined needs.
At first you can take around half an hour to read with a working knowledge level
a non-fiction book of 2-300 pages.

All the text in my 5 TCR success levels is also presented as MP3 audio recordings;
therefore people who have problems reading can easily gain this material
and also people can listen in addition to reading and so consolidate their background knowledge.
In addition I have produced some Gremlin Taming MP3s using my skills as a hypno/energy therapist
and these are available to those who wish to  take advantage of this facility
to deal with any saboteurs that try and get in the way of your success
in your personal and business life.

Cancer: 3rd commentary on the risks of sitting for a long time!

I have this picture of the chairs my dad carved on my monitor to remind me
to set my countdown timer for half an hour
when I stand and touch my elbow to my alternate knee 5-10 times
before sitting correctly in my chair. M'reen

1st  Success Level 2: Alexander technique.
2nd Success level 4 : At the bottom of this article.
3rd The Cancer Risks Of Long Term Sitting

Dear Reader,

Here's something that will get you up, on your feet and out of that chair.
Every two hours a person spends sitting ups the risk for some very dangerous types of cancer
by as much as 10% when compared to those people who sit very little according to research published in the Journal of the National Cancer Institute.
The cancers affected by sitting include those of the colon, endometrial and lung.
Sitting for long time periods has been linked to other health issues to be sure...
obesity, metabolic syndrome, heart disease and diabetes.
Even an earlier death.

The most recent work in this area was a meta-analysis using 43 studies
that included almost 4 million subjects and involved 70,000 cases of cancer.
All the research used had periodically asked participants on how much time they spent sitting watching TV at home, at their desk at work as well as total time spent seated.

The team saw that each 2 hour increase in time spent sitting was linked to an increased risk
of cancer - 10% higher risk for endometrial (uterine) cancer, 8% higher risk for colon cancer
and a 6% higher risk for cancer of the lung.
If there is any good news to come from the analysis, it's that cancers of the breast, rectum, ovary, prostate, stomach, oesophagus, testicle, kidney and non-Hodgkin lymphoma were not tied to sitting.

Surprisingly, the findings on sitting and cancer risk held true even for those who exercise regularly. Regular workouts, it turns out, do not help you if you sit too long in a chair.
It seems clear there's something bad about sitting that's not related to lack of exercise.

One of the reasons may be because long term sitting causes blood sugar and levels of insulin
to spike. That spike is related to both diabetes and colon cancer.

Experts know that endometrial cancer is related to oestrogen,
a hormone that rises in response to obesity in women who have gone through menopause.

There may be something else going on as well.
If you keep body weight constant, there's still a link between cancer and spending time in a chair. One reason may be that the lack of movement triggers an inflammatory response that includes
a rise in biomarkers C-reactive protein (CRP) and interleukin-6 (IL-6).
In trials, 14 days of bed rest in young subjects upped C-reactive protein and pro-inflammatory interleukin-6 in the participants. Animal studies have demonstrated the same thing.

These findings add to the mounting evidence that sitting for long periods... at your desk, in the car, on your own couch (or recliner) just isn't a good thing for your body. You need to try to work
light bouts of physical activity into your routine. Take regular breaks at work, forgo email and get up
and walk over to talk face to face with a colleague and avoid eating lunch at your desk.
At home try to cut down on the TV watching and screen time, getting up and moving
with some light activity every so often is also a smart strategy to keep yourself healthy
and perhaps cancer free.

To your good health,

Taken from Success Level 4 of the Turbo Charged Reading tuition pack
that arrives in your dropbox or even as a CD.
Standing up.     Success Level 4 of the TCR programe.
One of the reasons people are recommended to stand up from their desk particularly when typing, reading or any other concentrated focussed work is to rest your eyes and they only take a few seconds to be refreshed. To move oxygenates your spine and brain and relaxes your muscles
from a static posture. In fact one author blamed his heart attack on the fact that his chair
with its wheels negated the need for him to rise during his working day.
It took me 33 seconds to do the following. Having sat in my chair correctly I touched the outside
of my left foot with my right hand while putting my left hand on my right thigh.
For those with a poor memory this is a highly recommended exercise.
I then balanced my top and bottom brains – and you remember how to do this.
I then did one of Joff’s finger exercises all for a count of 5 and then dabbed on my 30 minute timer.
However, as I like to get the most in for my time and effort I included drawing in my little bits
and lower abdomen as if my life depended on it – and suffered discomfort during the night.
Using my dowsing skills and observation of my physical movements I found that when sitting down
I was not stopping when my shoulders were above my hips but pulling my spine down and back
into the chair back :(
Click on the Alexander Technique link above to find out how to sit when reading and writing.
There is actual evidence that if you will stand and so rest your eyes and then oxygenate your spine and brain that your productivity and its quality will not only be maintained but increase
due to lack of fatigue. Half an hour is the optimum time period. If I get up in the middle of the half hour period then I just re-set for a new half hour; you will decide what is best for your working environment.

Thank you to all who read my blogs, your comments and questions are welcome.
If this is your first TCR blog you may be surprised to learn that in order to Turbo Charge Read effectively you actively involve your body, brain, mind, eyes and energy systems.

The last page first.

Are these ornaments or part of your internal memory? M'reen

The last page first. An upside down blog!
Written By M'reen

Why are these bonuses that deal with any problems you may experience offered?
Problems such as: Confidence, Procrastination, Habit, Over Expectation, Stress.

Purely because I want you to succeed as a TCR.
I don’t want you to buy a package and leave it unopened.
I don’t want you to invest a small number of hours learning how to TCR
and then leave it as a good idea and revert to your slow reading habit zone.
I do want TCR to be your natural choice of reading except for those times
when slow reading is the more enjoyable choice for some reason.
The TCR is not the problem; learning to become a TCR is not a problem
the problem is habit, your comfort zone.
Even though you logically know that to TCR is the most efficient way of progress for you,
very often we find the Devil-we-know to be the easier option
and while we are taking that option we are quietly berating ourselves for doing so.

This last bonus MP3(+) is of incalculable value for a couple of reasons.
Firstly some people become dependent on CDs or MP3s in order
to enter the focussed learning state. This MP3(+) is specifically designed to give you
the confidence and experience of entering the focussed learning state all by yourself.
Secondly it is only five minutes in length and it is a skill you carry around with you
for whenever you have five minutes to yourself. I used this daily for around 3 months
just dumping unspecified stress until one day there was nothing left!
No no-one is stress free, that just doesn’t happen, so I started working on people
and events that popped into my mind and found that on my second to forth session that
there was nothing left. What I didn’t realise was as I was working on one person that I was also shaving off some stress surrounding another person.
The result was that the prickles on my personality fell off and one person told me that she understood exactly what I was trying to express. You won’t feel a eureka moment as this is
very gentle, just like your hair growing, even if you haven’t got any hairJ

Why is page two being presented with the last points first?
Because when I TCR a book the first time I TCR it upside down and back to front
so that interesting words don’t leap out at me and attract my attention
– they are to do that in the final stages of TCR.

MP3(+)  A focussed learning state period covering the Written 1 section
as TCR via the ears as opposed to the eyes. (16 mins)
This is basically a direct copy of the written material and like TCR will allow the material
to go directly into your innermind. However if you just leave it there it will form
part of your general awareness which is not the current point.
So as soon as possible access that information by making notes of what you remember
and surprise yourself as to what you do recall and the increase in recall each time
you use this MP3(+)

MP3(+)  A very valuable focussed learning state period dealing with Stress,
Gremlins, Confidence and TCR. (26 mins. Keep and use lots)
This powerful session is often a person’s first experience with working in the trance state;
that is a state of relaxed conscious awareness, where the person agrees just to sit,
close their eyes and see what may happen for them.
Therefore people of certain religious beliefs or people who are epileptic will choose
to not use these MP3(+)s. This will not affect their ability to TCR but they might find that the gremlins between their ears prevent them from actively employing TCR in their daily
professional and personal lives.
This bonus session with an extra bit in the middle is often all a client needs to resolve the issue that brought them to me in the first place.

MP3 (Notes) Preparation this time only (7 mins)
This MP3 is only offered once and gives answers to a few very basic but important questions.
You will notice that my lines are not smartly justified nor do my words fill the available space.
This is because; shorter lines are easier to read and keeping one thought on one line is easier to read.

MP3(Notes)  Written 1 for when you are driving (11 mins)
This generally will be a copy of the written material, but as a direct copy is not necessary
it may extend or re-word here and there.
Please listen to this at least once but as it is only 11 minutes long and your journey is likely
to be longer then please listen to it multiple times as this is to your learning,
experience and confidence benefit.

Written piece 1
Should you print out this piece, please do not printout, ‘Kaa, The Jungle Book snake’, as to do so
will take away the learning advantage of this additional piece of work.
I include how long it takes me to slow read with comprehension these pieces in order to encourage you to read them yourselves.
I recognise that those of you who have problems reading may find this to be difficult, but even so
I’d like you to read as far as you are able as this IS part of the process of enabling you not only to be an excellent and efficient TCR but also to be able to better enjoy slow reading when you choose to do so. Even though this piece is recorded directly onto an MP3(notes) and MP3(+) it IS a necessary part of the learning process for you to spend a few minutes slow reading the written material.

Turbo Charged Reading Success Level 1

Written By M'reen
The first package you can expect to receive when you join the TCR programme.
You may choose to work independently or opt for support sessions after each package.
Or arrange something more suitable for your group or business no matter how large.

Written information 1: What is TCR?
                                     Who will benefit from TCR?
                                     The Next Level Covers:
(Total: 3 mins to slow read)

Written information 2:   Kaa,  Jungle Book’s snake. (3 mins to slow )

MP3 (Notes)  Covering Each Written Section
for when you are driving etc.
Many people find reading difficult or they do not have the time to read, these MP3 enables them
to absorb the information in a format that is more convenient and accessible.

MP3(+)  A very valuable focussed learning state period
dealing with Stress, Gremlins, Confidence and TCR.
(24 mins. Keep and use lots)

MP3(+) A focussed learning state period covering the Written 1
section as TCR via the ears as opposed to the eyes.

(16 mins) This will enable you to experience focussed learning via your ears,
so the written information 1 is repeated by an MP3 for you to listen to while walking
and repeated again while you are in the focussed learning state.

MP3(+)  A focussed learning state period enabling you
to enter the focussed learning state independently.
(5 mins)
Some people become dependent upon CDs and MP3s in order to enter the
focussed learning state which is an entirely natural and daily state of being
                   - it just has a fancy name.

Purpose for choosing a book to turning pages

Your purpose for choosing a book. Written By M'reen
Choosing an appropriate book is a lot simpler than choosing a dress.
Broken spines are a thing of the past for book lovers.
      How to turn pages efficiently.
      Photos by M’reen

Your purpose for choosing a book.

Your broad purpose may be to ‘help save the bee population’ and this causes you to choose a book about bees. The purpose for a particular book may be practical and achievable such as ‘to understand the behaviour of bees’. Subsequent books, or within this book, you may find other relevant purposes. Therefore one book may have different purposes as you may want increasing levels of usable knowledge from the book ranging from a general over view to detailed knowledge and these different levels require another ‘charge through the book’ at the access (into your conscious mind) stage of Turbo Charged Reading. These levels of knowledge (how much you want from this material) depend on whether your interest is that of a curious observer to that of a global expert on bees.

Choosing an appropriate book is a lot simpler than choosing a dress.

When choosing a dress you need to follow a number of rules of colour and shape that apply specifically to you – until you dye your hair something really spectacular.
Like a lot of things in life you start with the big picture and slowly work your way towards the specific.
When you combine the specifics you become like a ballerina performing with style and fluid ease.
I want to make a million pounds and someone else has already nabbed the idea of selling 1 pixel for $1 and I haven’t dreamed up a Harry Potter or realised that a dirty unmade bed is worth a fortune. Gosh, am I challenged or what?!? Business, now that’s the way to go.
What am I good at? Do I sell a lot for a little or a little for a lot? And how? Etc.
Off to the internet or book shop I go as opposed to some other option – my first active choice.
But why? What is my purpose in making this particular choice?
If I don’t know my purpose then I don’t know what’s my next best step; I’m playing lucky dip.
I arrive at the Business section and find The Attila the Hun approach to business (a good book and that is all I remember!), NLP (concerning everything known to man), How to Interview Skills etc and even more etc. Baffled I go to the section I feel most comfortable with; as the next step in anything
in life is based on confidence in where you are now. Therefore I’ll start with general business skills
as opposed to specific skills and thus my selection has narrowed as I’ve actively taken the next step, however it would be far more useful if I brought that intuition into my conscious awareness.
Looking at, say, 10 books and realising that (at this time) I may only read one I intuitively choose
a book. Of all your innate skills your intuition is the one to trust and Turbo Charged Reading
will actually help in this area – but not now – as there are more pressing concerns.
Taking the book Business and the Beautiful Game;
I know that at least I’ll understand the terminology and that is a good first step.
I read the front cover – it says what’s in the can. The back cover; Oh my goodness,
it’s endorsed by some heavy hitters I recognise and it promises to be at the level I need.
Next I look at the Table of Contents and find they are written in language that is accessible
to my understanding and covers areas that I really think will be of value to me.
(I couldn’t help but sneak a peep at the authors and found that these are people I want to converse with– not a curious phrase to an Turbo Charged Reader)
Finally I flick through to see how the book is laid out and find that it has understandable chapter headings with lots of bold sub headings within the chapters, and an end of chapter summary described as ‘Tactics’.
I’m buying.
Oh and it’s not that expensive and at 143 pages it’s an easy slow read, maybe, sometime, eventually.
However after a half hour investment of time an experienced Turbo Charged Reader could
probably quote the book chapter and verse.

Broken spines are a thing of the past for book lovers.

From the state of my books you can see I really wish that I knew this little trick years ago.
Whenever you find a book that doesn’t lie flat when open then you ‘prepare the spine’
for a lifetime of reading enjoyment; it also makes turning pages when Turbo Charged Reading easier.
Simply open your book in the middle and bend the pages right back then bend the quarters right back before you take every 10-20 pages and rub your finger or thumb tips up and down the crease until the book lies flat on the table.

 How to turn pages efficiently.

This is easier if the book wants its pages to be turned and that is one of the reasons for preparing
the spine.  However, I have to admit that some pages turn more easily than others so don’t feel frustrated or that you are not as proficient as others.
The reason for using a book rest is twofold; at first it makes the pages easier to turn and secondly
if you are reading a great many books in a day then with your elbows on the table it helps to prevent muscle stress in your neck and shoulders.
To turn pages: Being predominantly right handed, I slide my index or middle finger from the bottom
of the central crease to the top right hand corner. My middle finger is followed by my thumb which hold down the page as the first crease of my middle finger catches over the top of the page and pulls
it forward sliding the pad of my finger under the page to draw it forwards.
My left hand fingers keep the pages open. It doesn’t matter if you turn over a couple of pages
in a clump but at first you will probably find that impossible to do no matter how much you believe
it isn’t necessary to view each page in order.
